Bonnie Jane Claywell, 79, of Columbia, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1:45 A.M. at TJ Health Columbia.

Bonnie was born August 26, 1938 in Wayne County, to the late Mert & Florence Dishman Hancock.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Claywell on February 11, 2006; five brothers, Carl, Fred, Earl, Guy & Osby Hancock; and six sisters, Doris Watson, Hazel Fulton, Bessie Hancock, Glenna Hancock, Eva Jones & Lois Piercy.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was retired from Fruit of the Loom and worked in the housekeeping department at Westlake Regional Hospital for 14 years. 

Survivors Include:

Two Sons – Doyle Burton, Eric Todd Burton & his special friend, Sherry Wilson all of Columbia

Three Daughters & Sons-in-law – Lois & Leslie Sapp, Kathy & Rick Shelton, Cheryl & Jeff Wall all of Columbia

Two Sisters – Gladys Roy & Chris Neat both of Columbia

Ten Grandchildren – Tia White, Carly Flanagan, Devin Burton, Gracie Burton, Katie Shelton, Elliot Smith, Jeremy Wall, Justin Burton, Casey Wall & Brandon Shelton

Ten Great-Grandchildren

Several Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives & Friends also survive

Funeral Service – Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Hancock officiating

Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery

Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Wednesday

Memorials are requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Adair County Senior Citizens Center or donations of Gideon Bibles.  These may be left at the funeral home.
