Clavis “Short” Burris, 88, of Gradyville, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at 9:44 A.M. at the home of his daughter.

He was born April 23, 1928, in Adair County, to the late Willie W. & Nellie Janes Burris.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Voyce Shirley Burris on November 5, 2011, and a son, David S. Burris.  He was a self-employed carpenter and a farmer. 

Survivors Include:

One Son – Donnie Burris & his wife Darla of Gradyville

One Daughter – Marie Lemmon & her husband Michael of Gradyville

A Daughter-in-law – Lana Burris of Gradyville

One Brother – Tom Burris of Columbia

One Sister – Lucille Reece of Shelbyville, IN

Three Grandchildren – Shane Garmon, Keisha Skaggs & Lori Adams

Five Great-Grandchildren

Several Other Relatives & Friends also survive

Funeral Service – Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating

Burial will follow the service in Haven Hill Cemetery

Visitation after 4:30 P.M. Tuesday

Memorial contributions are requested to Hosparus of Green River.  These may be left at the funeral home.
