Willis, Mackie and Tam, my heart breaks for you all. This man was such a blessing to myself and everyone that knew him. He set a wonderful example for the children he came into contact with. I feel sorry for the people that didn't have the opportunity to know Creed Lacy. The entire time I was in school Creed was our bus driver. When my son and I moved to FairPlay he rode Creeds bus and he thought the world of Creed. Ever time he comes to Columbia he mentions seeing Creed if we were passing through FairPlay. What a blessing God gave us in Creed !

I always looked forward to getting on Creed's bus and seeing his smiling face. Creeds love for children was special and he made all that rode his bus feel at home. Even times when we were put on the front of the bus for acting up Creed would talk to us and say we could go to the back if we promised not to get in to trouble! Great man and a great friend that will be missed by all.

We moved from Chicago to Fairplay on Friday and I started school on Monday, the first face that scared little girl saw as that big door opened was a smiling Creed Lacy and I was greeted with that same smile for the next 10 years. What a wonderful example he was to the community at large but especially to the children who had the honor of being one of "his kid". Much love to Willa, Mackie and Tam.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful post. My Daddy treated all his children as if they were his own. He always said "I haul the most precious cargo in the world, my Kids. They can't ever be replaced."
