Edward A. Farris, 96, of Frankfort, KY, formerly of Adair County, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:15 P.M. at Baptist Health Lexington
He was born December 19, 1920, in Adair County, to the late Johnnie and Mollie Bennett Farris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Allen and Barbara Farris, three siblings; Garnett (Mary Lou) Farris, Marvin Farris, Virginia (Lee) Armstrong, brother-in-law; Marcus Jones and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Farris was an Infantry Sergeant in General Patton’s Third Army, 35th Division, 134 Regiment, Company G, during World War II. He was retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, serving as Commissioner of the Alcohol Beverage Control.

His children – Linda (Robert) Beasley of Kansas City, MO, Larry (Natalie) Farris of McKinney, TX, Cathy (Charles) McGaughey of Nicholasville
One sister – Jessie Jones of Cane Valley
Eight grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Private Graveside service will be in the Cane Valley Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097
There will be no visitation
