Elsie Marie Gaskins, 95, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:35 P.M. at Russell County Hospital.

She was born in Jamestown, Kentucky, on February 23, 1922, to the late Vadie and Mary Magdalene Wooldridge Guffey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Walter Ray Gaskins, three sons; Ethan, Solomon & Emmanuel Gaskins and one daughter; Katherine Gaskins.  She attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church and the Adair Friends and Neighbors Adult Daycare.

Survivors include:

One daughter – Ruth Pike of Columbia

Five sons – Lemuel Gaskins and his wife Linda of Columbia, Jesse Gaskins of Columbia, Amos Gaskins and his wife Carolyn of Columbia, David Gaskins of Edmonton, Samuel Gaskins and his wife Twalla of Knifley

14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

Funeral service – Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey officiating

Burial in New Hope Cemetery

Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Thursday
