John B. McKinney, 77, of Scottsville, Kentucky, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 9:50 P.M. at his home.

He was born April 18, 1939, in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, to the late Carl and Mary Wilson McKinney.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.  He moved to Louisville, Kentucky, and was a successful businessman with Curtis 1000, Inc.  Upon promotion, he was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia in 1974, where he lived until he retired in 1997.  In 1987, John married Sharon Pickett Gooden.  John loved Kentucky and returned to Scottsville, Kentucky upon his retirement.  He loved his wife and sons and will be greatly missed.

His wife – Sharon Pickett McKinney of Scottsville

Two sons – Jim and Curt McKinney both of Georgia

Two step-children – Myles Pogue and Jessica Kriz of Louisville

One brother – Paul McKinney of Drakesboro,

Two grandchildren – Joshua and Emily McKinney

Three step-grandchildren – Chase, Camron and Connor Kriz

Graveside service – Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Columbia Cemetery with Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiating
