Dr. Yolande Ann Marie Wittamer Oostens, 78, of Columbia, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at 6:35 P.M. at her home.

She was born August 28, 1938, in Etterbeck, Belgium, to the late Louis and Berthe De Camps Wittamer.  She graduated from the University of Louvain in Belgium with a PhD, was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, a strong supporter of the Agape House and was known for visiting the nursing homes and shut-ins in the area.

Survivors include:

Her husband – Dr. Jean Oostens of Columbia

One brother – Michael Wittamer of Belgium

One nephew – Alexander Wittamer of Belgium

Several friends in Columbia and surrounding counties

Funeral Mass – Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Nicholas Brown officiating

Burial in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Campbellsville

Visitation on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin  Funeral Home and after 8:00 A.M. Thursday at the church

In lieu of flowers, donations to Agape House or Good Shepherd Catholic Church would be appreciated.  These may be left at the funeral home.
