Finley Akin, 85, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 12:28 P.M. at his home.
He was born July 28, 1931, to the late Robert and Alta Price Akin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Rochelle Akin, a granddaughter, Sara Akin Morrison, three great-grandchildren, Kayson and Lathan Morrison, Austin Bryant, two brothers, Bobby and Dickey Akin and two sisters, Audrey Calhoun and Genois Collins.
He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, a former businessman, owning Akin’s Aluminum & Carpet in Edmonton for years, a farmer and a building contractor. He served his country in U.S. Air Force from 1949-1952.

One daughter – Sharon Morrison and her husband, Rocky, of Columbia
One grandson – Chad Morrison and his wife, Angie, of Columbia
One granddaughter - Robin Branham and her husband, Wesley, of Columbia
Five great-grandchildren – Riley Bryant, Jamsion Ford, Katelyn & Emilee Morrison, Jessica Nuszbaum
One brother – Dean Akin and his wife, Jane, of Versailles
Four sisters – Flossie Price and her husband, Houston, Charlene Sexton and Margie Williams all of Columbia, Sheila McQueary and her husband, Steve, of Louisville
A host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends
Funeral service – Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Junior Shirley officiating
