Lucian B. "L.B." Smith

Lucian B. “L.B.” Smith, 77, of Columbia, died Friday, June 7, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born September 15, 1941 in Adair County to the late John Henry & Annie Helen White Smith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred & Jim Smith, and two sisters, Gladys Triplett & Norma Jean Ramsey.  L.B. was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War and a former heavy machinery operator for many different construction companies. 

Survivors Include:

Two Sons – Joseph Scotland Smith & O’Shaughnessy Demetrius Frazier both of Columbia

One Daughter – Marveeia Karmaye’ Smith-Sanders & her husband Vincent of Memphis

One Brother – Ben Smith & his wife Brenda of Columbia

Four Grandchildren – Ambrielle Sanders, Toni Hickman, Blane Frazier & Aspen Sanders

One Great-Grandchild – Kendon Handley

Special Friend – Ochia Anders of Burkesville

A host of nieces, nephews & friends also survive

Funeral Service – Saturday, June 15, 2019 at11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Murphy delivering the eulogy

Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097

Visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday
