Philip R. Holmes

Colonel Philip R. Holmes, 73, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 7:15 A.M. at Providence Pine Meadows in Lexington.

He was born November 1, 1945 in Adair County, to the late Russell and Manette Smith Holmes.  Philip served in the U.S. Navy was a Licensed Real Estate Agent.

Survivors include:

His wife – Geneva Downey Holmes of Columbia

One sister – Joyce (Sovel) Stephens of Russell Springs

An uncle – Sam Bingham Holmes of Columbia

Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Philip requested cremation and the family would like for everyone to join them in remembering and celebrating his life on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home

Philip also requested no flowers be sent, but donations of Gideon Bibles or the donor’s favorite charity.  These may be made at the funeral home.

There will be no visitation prior to the service
