Shirley M. Pilkington, 79, of Adair County, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at 12:50 A.M. at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was born July 26, 1937, in Sylva, North Carolina, to the late William Walter and Bertha Cook Biddix.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Pilkington.  She was a member of Gradyville Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:

Her husband – Jim Pilkington of Adair County

Two sons – Will (Rachael) Pilkington and James Hardy (Lolita) Pilkington all of Adair County

One sister – Clovie Putnam of Bethel, North Carolina

12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren

Graveside service – Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moss Cemetery with Bro. Keith Fields officiating

Burial to follow

There will be no visitation at the funeral home
