Cosby Powell

Cosby Powell, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville.

He was born April 10, 1935, in Adair County, to the late Olen and Emma Lena Burton Powell.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Powell, five brothers, Raymond, Gilbert, Robert Lee, Ray and Lloyd “Tub” Powell and one sister, Ruth Tress.

Cosby served his Country in the U.S. Navy, was a member of American Legion Shawnee Post 193 in Louisville and a former store manager for Speedway.

Survivors include:

One daughter and son-in-law – Angela and Scott Riley of Louisville

Two sons – Rick Powell of Louisville and Steve Powell of New Albany, Indiana

Five grandchildren – Gage Riley and his wife Autumn, Branden Riley and his wife Taylor, Jacob Powell, Shane Powell and Angel Wiggers all of Louisville

Two great-grandchildren – Gabe Riley and Baylei Powell

Funeral service – Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Conover officiating

Burial in Bearwallow Cemetery with full military honors presented by V.F.W. Post 6097

Visitation after 11:00 A.M. Friday
