Dean Akin, 82, of Versailles, Kentucky, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles
He was born April 2, 1943, to the late Robert and Alta Price Akin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Finley Akin, Bobby Akin, Dickey Akin and three sisters, Audrey Calhoun, Genois Collins and Charlene Sexton. Dean was a member of First Christian Church in Versailles and employed by Godolphin at Gainsborough Farms.

His wife – Jane Moran Akin of Versailles
Two daughters – Alice Ellis (Timmy) of Elizabethtown and Anne Reichenbach (Mark) of Midway
Three sisters – Flossie Price and Margie Williams both of Columbia, Sheila McQueary (Steve) of Louisville
Three grandchildren – Lauren Elkins (Chris), Callie Little (Jack) and Will Reichenbach
Seven great-grandchildren – Jordan Elkins, Kylie Elkins, Elliot Elkins, Finn Elkins, Levi Little, Oliver Little, John Garbacz
Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Funeral service – Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton and Chris Cole officiating
Burial in Columbia Cemetery
Visitation after 10:00 A.M. Thursday
