Derek Wade Cowan

Derek Wade Cowan, 40, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Knifley.

Derek was free spirited, fun loving and warm hearted man.  He enjoyed doing yard work and helping anyone and everyone and he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Lynn Cowan

Survivors include:

His mother and step-father – Rebecca and Fred Thomas of Columbia

Three children – Kiara Cowan of Russell Springs, Cash Cowan of Russell Springs and Cecilia Salyers of Taylor County

One sister and brother-in-law – Stephanie and Kevin Kruizenga of Campbellsville

One half-brother – Taylor Cowan of Russell Springs

One nephew and two nieces – Maddix Vaughn, Greenlee Vaughn and Audrey Kruizenga

Two special aunts – Linda Simmons of Glens Fork and Leoda Curry of Campbellsville

Several other aunt, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends

The family has chosen Cremation and family services will be held at a later date
