Edna Alene (Helm) Melson

Edna Alene Melson, 85, of the Cundiff community, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:20 A.M. at Green Hill Manor Nursing & Rehab in Greensburg.

She was born August 29, 1938, in Adair County, to the late Roy and Mamie Cape Helm.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons & one daughter-in-law, Walter Dwayne Melson, Ronnie Lee Melson, Donnie and Gayle Melson, one brother, Roy Helm, Jr. and two sisters, Louise George and Thelma Bunch.  She was a member of Melson Ridge United Baptist Church and retired from Union Underwear.

Survivors include:

Her husband – Walter Melson of Cundiff

One son – Gary Melson (Vicki) of Cundiff

Three sisters – Faylene Spencer and Barbara Polston both of Cundiff, Irene Spencer of Fairplay

Six grandchildren – Donnie Joe Melson (Tralisa), Stacey Ayers (Rodney), Jennifer Wall (Mike), Tabitha Coomer, Brandon Melson (Heather), Andrew Melson (Jordan)

13 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Mitchell Eggers officiating

Burial in Burchett Cemetery

Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday
