Flossie Walkup, 88, of Columbia, KY, the Flatwoods community, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 9:06 P.M. at her home

She was born April 3, 1926, in Smiths Grove, KY, to the late Romey and Gabriella Cook Boards.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Walkup on Nov. 1, 2011 and by a grandson.  She was a member of Second Christian Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
One son – Donnie (Jane) Walkup of Columbia
One daughter – Frances Benford of Louisville
One brother – Amos Boards of Indianapolis, IN
Nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Columbia Christian Church on Campbellsville St., with Rev. Donnie Walkup delivering the eulogy

Burial in Lasley Cemetery

Visitation after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church
