I am so very sorry for your loss.  At this difficult time please remember the Bible’s promise at Acts 24:15, “There is going to be a resurrection.”  May the God of all comfort, comfort you in all your trials. – 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

I have known Grover for many many years. I showed Holsteins when I was a kid. Grover would always be around the livestock shows.  He was always supportive of us kids dragging those cows around.  When I needed someone to milk my heifer after she calved, Grover took her in and kept her for me. I visited his farm many times to see my cow.  Grover and his staff took great care of her.  I will never forget that. Grover was such  a help.  I always enjoyed talking to him and will miss him.  He was one of a kind.  My deepest sympathy to the family. May God be with you during this time and always.

I enjoyed visiting with Grover last Tuesday at Summit Manor. He was feeling well and in good spirits; we shared quite a few laughs! My father, Paul Keneipp, thought a lot of Grover, as did I. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Grover Gilpin.  I considered him a long time friend.  I first met Grover in 1960.  While a student at LWC I began a Dairy Herd Improvement Association group in Adair and Cumberland counties.  Grover was one of my dairy farms where I weighed individual cow's milk twice daily once per month and tested the milk for fat content.  On one visit to Grover's farm I encountered him building a plank fence.  He was driving nails in green lumber and every board was splitting when he drove the nail.  I said, "Mr. Gilpin, if you would dull the end of that nail before you drive it the board will not split".  He looked at me like, what is a young whipper-snapper like you doing telling me how to build a fence but he tried lightly hitting the nail on the wrong end to dull the point and it worked.  He told that story on me every time we got together since that day.  I visited him in the nursing home last fall.  After a few minutes of conversation and he figured out who I was sure enough he told the story about me telling him how to keep from splitting boards with nails.  I shall always cherish the time I spent with him on the farm and at many dairy meetings over the years.
