Hershel Melson

Hershel Melson, 88, of Knifley, Kentucky, died Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:04 P.M. at his residence.

He was born May 13, 1935, in Adair County, to the late Estel and Tilda Melson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valtie Edel Wheat Melson, a daughter, Betty Crawhorn and a granddaughter, Rebecca Judd.  Hershel was a retired truck driver, working until his late 70’s.

Survivors include:

One daughter – Linda Walker (Rusty) of Knifley

One son – Lee Melson of Jamestown

Eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

Several other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Helm officiating

Burial in Jones Chapel Cemetery

Visitation after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday
