Irene L. Newby

Irene L. Newby, 71, of the Crocus community, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.

She was born July 8, 1951, to the late Samuel and Nina Iris Hunter Newby.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Newby, a brother, Frank Newby and a niece, Morasha Newby.

Survivors include:

Two brothers – Marvin Newby (Maryetta) of Greensburg and Sam Newby, Jr., of Russell Springs

Three sisters – Patricia Newby of Columbia, Jeanna Newby Handley of Campbellsville, Angela Newby Riley (Billy) of Columbia

Several other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Taylor officiating

Burial in Holt Cemetery in Russell County

Visitation after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday
