James Absher, 93, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Grandview Nursing & Rehab in Campbellsville.
He was born February 4, 1927, in Adair County, to the late Joe and Emer Moore Absher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Corbin Absher, two grandchildren, Gregory Wayne Kemp & Alaina Adams and a son-in-law, Norman Janes.
James was a US Army Veteran, a former factory worker, school bus driver, mechanic and farmer.
Survivors include:
Three sons – James Absher and Joe Absher and his wife Sue all of Tennessee, Archie Absher and his wife Beverly of Campbellsville
Two daughters – Janet Janes of Campbellsville and Emma Jewell and her husband Don of Glasgow
Two sisters – Alma Ferguson & Lois Claiborne both of Columbia
Eight grandchildren – William Absher, Gary Rackley, Angie Adams, Schella Pittman, Brian Kemp, David Michael Absher, SSG Jeffery B. Absher, James Ray Absher
13 Great-Grandchildren, several other relatives & friends

Funeral service – Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Curtis and Rev. Elbert Hadley officiating
