James Cape, 82, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at TJ Health/Columbia.
He was born March 28, 1941, in Adair County, to the late Virgil and Mable Melson Cape. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlena Cape on August 11, 2023, a grandchild, Kayla Sneed and two sisters, Robbie McCarol and Clara Alexander.
James was a member of Melson Ridge Separate Baptist Church and formerly worked at Lake Cumberland State Park.
Survivors include:
One son and daughter-in-law – Ricky and Angela Cape of Shepherdsville
One daughter and son-in-law – Karen and Mike Sneed of Columbia
One brother – Tommy Cape of Columbia
Five grandchildren – Amanda Terrell (Matt), Samantha Cape, Isabella Cape, Landon Sneed, Ashley Pointer (Dustin)
Seven great-grandchildren – Harper Terrell, Alexandria, Isaiah, Evelyn, Myla, Quinton and Jasper Pointer

Funeral service – Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Helm officiating
Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation after 9:00 A.M. Monday
