James Robert Ford Obituary

James Robert Ford, 79, passed away at his home in Columbia, Monday, December 9th, 2024.


He was born December 15, 1944 in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Mitchell and Estelle Corbin Ford. In addition to his parents he his preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Wheat Ford, four brothers, Donnie Ford, Gary Ford, Billy Ford, and Wenchie Ford and four sisters, Betty Greer, Mary Helm, Teresa Burton, and Janet Foster.


He was of the Baptist faith and was a painter for many years and loved to shoot pool


Survivors include:


Two sons: Jerry Ford (Donna) and Jamie Ford both of Columbia


One brother: Rondell Ford of Columbia


Four sisters: Eily White, Loraine Smith, Linda Hutchison, Darlene Lawhorn all of Columbia


Four grandchildren and five-great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.


Long-time Companion – Arcola Franklin of Columbia


Funeral Service- Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating.


Burial in Columbia Cemetery.


Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday.


Casket Bearers: Troy Ford, Jason Ford, Dawson Fisher, Rodney Ford, Cody Foley, and Larry Shirley


Honorary Pallbearers: JoJo Miller, Jakobe Miller, and Jace Miller
