James "Jim" Benny Napier Obituary

James Benny “Jim” Napier, 69, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown surrounded by his loved ones.


He was born November 13, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Ben and Ella Faye Fugate Napier.


Jim was a member of Beth Haven Baptist Church in Louisville and regularly attended Columbia Christian Church. 


Jim had a career in various forms of media, ranging from radio, print and television as well as a career in truck driving and sales all of which brought him joy.  Jim loved spending time playing golf, listening and playing music and his family and friends.


Survivors include:


His wife – Marsha Compton Napier of Columbia


His son – James Richard Napier and his fiancé, Mary Cassandra Scott of Nashville


One sister – Becky Yates (Paul) of Louisville


Several other relatives and friends


Funeral service – Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. John Davis officiating


Burial in Loy Cemetery


Visitation after 5:00 P.M. Monday
