Jane Moran Akin, 82, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, June 21, 2026 at her home in Versailles, Kentucky

She was born May 2, 1944, in Adair County, to the late Maurice and Callie Frances Massie Moran.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Akin in 2025 and her brother, Maury Moran in 1976.

Jane retired as a Compliance Officer with the Kentucky E.P.A. and was a member of First Christian Church in Versailles.

Survivors include:

Two daughters – Alice Ellis (Timmy) of Elizabethtown and Anne Reichenbach (Mark) of Midway

One sister – Nancy Moran Fouser of Versailles

Three grandchildren – Lauren Elkins (Chris), Callie Little (Jack) and Will Reichenbach

Six great-grandchildren – Jordan Elkins (Lexy), Kylie Elkins, Elliot Elkins, Finn Elkins, Levi Little and Oliver Little

Several other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton and Chris Cole officiating

Burial in Columbia Cemetery

Visitation after 10:00 A.M. Sunday
