Joseph Michael "Mike" Bandy

Joseph Michael “Mike” Bandy, 77, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Baptist Health in Lexington

He was born August 27, 1947, in Marion County, to the late Garland Joseph and Caryland Goodwin Bandy.  He retired from the Kentucky State Police.

Survivors include:

His wife – Phyllis Burress Bandy of Columbia

One son – Joe Scott Bandy of Columbia

Two daughters – Carrie Bandy and Lisa Kemp (Danny Downey) both of Columbia

Five grandsons – Waydon Yates of Lexington, Ethan Pierce of North Carolina, Brandon Pierce of Tennessee, Jacob Pierce of Columbia, Colton Kemp of Columbia

Two nieces – Karen O’Daniel and Tammy Hill

Several great-nieces, great-nephews, several other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Dwan Hadley officiating

Burial in Cane Valley Cemetery with Honors by Kentucky State Police Honor Guard

Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Sunday

Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which can be left at the funeral home

Casket Bearers are his five grandsons and Toby Absher
