Mary Ruth Scott Norris, 80, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Green River Trails in Greensburg.

She was born May 17, 1946, in the Bliss Community of Adair County, to the late Noah “Jack” and Beatrice Rogers Scott.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Norris in 2007 and by two brothers, Kenneth Scott and J.W. Scott.

Mary Ruth was of the Nazarene Church faith, a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Library Board both in Bridgeview, Illinois.

Survivors include:

Two sons – Bradley Todd Johnson (Cindy) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Jeffery Scott Johnson (Kristie) of Columbia

Five grandchildren – Samantha Prahl, Morgan Johnson, Noah Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Tanner Johnson

One great-grandchild – Aurora Prahl

Three nieces and one nephew, several cousins, other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home

Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery

Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Thursday
