Medie Jo (Wallis) Machen

Medie Jo Wallis Machen, 90, of Columbia, KY, formerly of Sylacauga, AL, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her residence.

She was born April 26, 1933, to the late William Russell and Evie Dean Guy Wallis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Earl Machen.  She was a member of First Methodist Church in Sylacauga and a homemaker.

Survivors include:

Two sons – Dr. Byron C. Machen (Carol) of Auburn, AL and Ronald T. Machen (Jane) of Sylacauga, AL

One daughter – Dr. Janice M. Coffey of Columbia, KY

Six grandchildren – John (Kristen) Machen, Rachel (Chris) Williams, Bethany Nicole (John) Bowie, Sarah (Heath) O’Reilly, Harper Anne Machen and Haley Bobbitt

Three great-grandchildren – Gramercy Grace, Charles Elgin  and Campbell Ann Williams and Everett Grant O’Reilly

Funeral service – Friday, December15, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, Alabama with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.

Burial in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacagua

The family has requested donations to Missy’s Heart which can be left at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home or mailed to the funeral home.
