Pearsetta Cowan, 91, of Columbia, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 5:09 A.M. at the Westlake Regional Hospital
She was born January 27, 1923, in Adair County, to the late Hector and Annie Lizzie Bryant Burton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Cowan in 2009, a daughter, Sharlene Cowan in 1975, two sons, Kenneth & Harold Cowan in infancy, two sisters, Ethel Lou Cowan & Mary Lee Coffey and six brothers, Ivan, Aden, Loy, Wilmer, Orlin and Paul Burton.
She was a member of Charity Baptist Church, a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include:
Two sons – Winfred Cowan, Eugene (Carol) Cowan all of Columbia
Special daughter-in-law – Janet Cowan Antle of Columbia
Four grandchildren, including a special granddaughter; Telissa (Brad) Moore, Denesa (Kelly) McCann, Jamie (Gale) Cowan, Timmy (Lisa) Cowan
Nine great-grandchildren – LaTashua Moore, Austen McCann, Jacob Cowan, Blake Cowan, Katelyn Moore, Karli Cowan, Brady Cowan, Beth Ann Cowan and Brent Moore
Special Caregivers – Doris Hadley, Doris Burton, Pat Crook, Lee Curry, Sharon Austin and several other throughout the years
Funeral service – Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Long and George Rice officiating
Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation after 4:00 P.M. Thursday
