Robert Shanklin Obituary

Robert Glenn Shanklin, 90, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, June 1, 2026 at Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton, Kentucky

He was born January 23, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Lynwood and Clara Marie Keys Shanklin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Shanklin in 2023.

Bob was a devoted Christian with a profound love of sharing his knowledge of the teachings of the Bible and God’s word.  He was a retired Pastor, Sunday School Teacher and also retired from working as an auto body repairman.  He loved playing his guitar and singing gospel and bluegrass music.  He was an incredibly talented painter.  He was a member of Charity Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

His children – Bill (Debbie), Barbara (Larry), Steve (Carol) and Becky (Tony)

His grandchildren – Mandy, Valarie, Brandon, Reba, Jessica, Cassidy, Dalton and Sherrie

His great-grandchildren – Bishop, Ella, Evie, Riley, Macie, Asher, Carson, Mila, Ezra, Ragnar, Rune, Blake, Sarah, Ryland, Rurik and Remik

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with a Graveside Service to follow in Haven Hill Cemetery with Brandon Nokes officiating
