Ruby Barbee, 92, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 5:15 P.M. at Signature Health Care at Summit Manor

She was born July 5, 1924, in Adair County, to the late James Tyler and Margaret Caldwell Tupman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe R. Barbee, two brothers; J.T. and Billy Joe Tupman and two sisters; Jessie Shirley and Dorothy McClung.  She was a member of Columbia Christian Church and was involved in the family business and farm.

Survivors include:

Two sons – Joe Lynn Barbee of Columbia, Jim Barbee of Buffalo, NY

One brother – Donald Tupman of Louisville

One sister – Ina Durham of Greensburg

Three grandchildren – Susan Barbee-Harvey, Sarah Espinosa, Jennifer Earnhart

Two great-grandchildren – Annelise Espinosa, Amelia Ruby Earnhart

Several nieces, nephews and friends, including a special care-giver, Danita Ritter

Ms. Barbee donated her body to the University of Kentucky for medical research

A celebration of her life will be held, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Begley Chapel on the Campus of Lindsey Wilson College with Bro. Raymond Martin, Bro. Paul Patton and Bro. William Davenport officiating

The family will receive visitors after 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the Begley Chapel

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hosparus of Green River would be appreciated
