Obituary

Rufus Johnson, 74, formerly of Adair County, died August 4, 2021 in San Rafael, California.

He was born June 3, 1947, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, to the late Taylor Claude and Mary Martha Hunter Johnson.  Rufus attended Durham High School in Campbellsville, was baptized in the Campbellsville First Baptist Church by Rev. Walter Johnson and was known for his ability to travel across the United States.

Survivors include:

One sister – Irene Duncan of Columbia

Two nephews – James Smith and Kenyatta Duncan both of Columbia

Seven great- nieces and nephews – Darby Fuqua, Avery Duncan, Noah Duncan, Kaylin Duncan, Adain Smith, Marli Smith and Ezra Smith

Two great-great nephews – Nicholas and Isaiah Fuqua

Graveside service – Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Hughes officiating

Burial to follow

There will be no visitation at the funeral home

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
