Ruth Ann (Hughes) Smith

Ruth Ann Smith, 78, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, September 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born November 25, 1946, in Adair County, to the late Bill and Bessie Curry Hughes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she sang in the Gospel Choir and worked at Osh Kosh B’Gosh for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Smith, one son, Jarrid DeCarlo “Bam” Smith, four brothers, Charles Hughes, Eugene “Dukie” Hughes, Chester Hughes, and Danny Hughes, two sisters, Geraldine Miller and Brenda Hughes.

Survivors include:

Three sons- Shayne Smith of Bardstown, Aundrae (Faye) Smith of Columbia, and Darrin “Speedy” Smith of Columbia

One sister- Joyce Bradshaw of Columbia

Two brothers – Kenny Hughes and Glen “Dagwood” Hughes both of Columbia

Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Carter, Sr. delivering the Eulogy

Visitation after 10:00 A.M. Sunday
