Velma Jean (Worley) Holmes

Velma Jean Holmes, 74, of Stanford, Kentucky, formerly of Adair County, died Saturday, October 28, 2023 at her residence.

She was born April 28, 1949, in McCreary County, Kentucky, to the late Lloyd and Leva Phillips Worley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Gary and Greg Worley.  She was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include:

Her children – Clayton Holmes (Lisa) of Stanford, Tracy Holmes (Scott Herron) of Campbellsville, Rachel Holmes (Kenny Whittle) of Columbia

One sister – Tracey Brown of Jamestown

Six grandchildren – Kevin Holmes, Morgan Holmes, Hannah Bragg, Jared Penick, Zachary Dial and Ryan Dial

A host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends

Funeral service – Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Edwards and Bro. Gene Dale Holmes officiating

Burial in New Hope Cemetery

Visitation after 5:00 P.M. Monday
