Vernice Lawhorn, 77, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset
She was born May 25, 1948, in Adair County, to the late Robert and Louise Stotts McClister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny McClister.
Vernice attended New Life for the Nations and was a homemaker.

Her husband – Raymond Lawhorn of Columbia
One son – Jason Raymond Lawhorn (Jody) of Russell County
One daughter – Loretta Lynn Lawhorn (Kenny Sinclair) of Columbia
Two brothers – Jackie McClister of Burkesville, Donnie McClister of Campbellsville
Three sisters – Bonnie Lawhorn of Columbia, Helen Willis of Columbia, Shirley Powell of Columbia
Five grandchildren – Cody Lawhorn, Anthony Lawhorn, Mason Lawhorn, Katelyn Roberts, Bailey Gosser
Five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Funeral service – Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Pastor Shirley Powell officiating
Burial in McClister Cemetery
Visitation after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday
