William Michael "Blue" Downs

William Michael “Blue” Downs, age 77 died Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Summit Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Columbia.

He was born December 13, 1947 in Somerset, KY to the late William Bert “Bill” and Margaret Watson Downs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Bennett Downs, a son, Josh Downs, and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Downs. He was a member of Egypt Christian Church and he was formerly a barber at Harris Barber Shop and retired after 20 plus years at Fruit of the Loom. He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and watching his grandchildren playing ball.

Survivors include:

One son – Chris Downs of Columbia

Three grandchildren – Easton Downs (Bree), Grayson Downs (Kandance) and McKenna Downs, all of Columbia

And a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral Service – Thursday, September 18 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton officiating

Burial in Columbia Cemetery

Visitation is requested from 5 until 8 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home
