My sincere belated condolences to the Stone family. I served with Lonnie in Vietnam in 1969. He and I were assigned together at Phu Loi. He was a great guy to have known. Like so many of us that served then, we lost contact over the years. Now many of us are leaving, hopefully to see each other again.
Sincerely, SSG Ronald G. Baker

My heart is broken; not only for the loss of Lonnie but for the pain I know the entire family and close friends are experiencing.  I am so very sorry and I know God will wrap you in his loving arms during this difficult time.  Remember the good times and that he no longer has to suffer.  He is now an angel and will be watching over all he loved so much.  The pain of losing a loved one will never go away but will lessen over time when you remember the love and joy he gave each and every one who ever knew him.

I want to express my sincere condolences to Lonnie Stone's family. I remember him playing bluegrass, in Anderson, IN, for and with my Dad, Jim Clark. I have fond memories of Lonnie, Peggy and Lonnie's sister, Sandy. And I remember Lonnie's parents being such good, kind people. I think I saw Lonnie one day last year in Columbia, KY as my husband and I live part time in Burkesville, KY. I knew his face, but couldn't place a name with it, and now regret that I just didn't say something to him, as I realize after seeing his picture that it was Lonnie. I will pray for peace and comfort for his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. I know they will miss him greatly. Sincerely, Karen Clark Bodkin
